Not setting the alarm clock ⏰

In my crazy lifestyle, Friday night gives you a chance to relax a little bit. Many of you here at CoryG Fitness can relate with the cheat meals and pints of beer that drop you into a deep sleep that night.

One of my favorite things to do is to not set my alarm clock.

It probably sounds like the opposite of what you may think of me because of my maniac schedule during the week. During the week, I can’t wait to get up to train and do content for the website. My mornings are everything.

Make recovery a high priority

Recovery is paramount. Could I recover through the hacks of the diet, proper supplementation from Max Effort, and a better quality of sleep during the week? Yes, but I do believe I need longer rest periods on the weekends to recharge.

Not only are Saturday and Sunday based more around family, but my recovery is a high priority as well. Unless I have something highly pressing that needs my attention, I try to chill out as much as possible, stay off of social, play with my kids, sleep in more, and get a few cheat meals in.

Manage your lifestyle properly

Managing and getting your lifestyle dialed in is key. It’s why I’ve been able to manage my lifestyle for so long. I don’t know if you can scientifically “catch up on sleep,” but I do know that it’s imperative to allow your mind & body to recover.

If you run a schedule similar to mine, it’s never going to hurt to get a little extra rest. Sometimes I wake up at 5, 6 or even 8am on the weekends. It completely depends on what the body needs.
