I love squatting, benching and pulling heavy
When you approach the bar for a squat, you can’t have one ounce of doubt that you aren’t going to make that lift. My grandfather used to school me on this subject saying, “If you think you stink.” Meaning, sure you want to keep your key cues in mind, but at the end of the day it’s time to fucking lift the weight. You take in that air, get in the right spot, and give it everything you have.

Every day you are shaking hands with that bar. You are getting up under that bar, it’s pushing you down, and you have no choice but to stand the fuck up. That’s what it’s about. You have to go at it like it’s everything you want in that moment. BE IN THE MOMENT. Want it for yourself. Want it for the progress. Reward yourself for the hard work.

You might be coming here for a workout, but I’m putting together a LIFESTYLE. This is the way that I have been living for years. If you start to approach the barbell this way, you will see success. You need to step up to the bar like someone bought tickets for the show, they doubt you, and then you are going to fucking show them. That’s what it’s about.
