More cardio isn’t fixing it
I had a 40+ year old client who was grinding every single day.
Running 3 miles.
45-minute spin classes.
Always sweating. Always tired.
And despite all that effort… he looked exactly the same.
Still carrying fat around the stomach.
Still losing muscle in the legs.
Still frustrated and not where he wanted to be.
What happens as men get older…
Belly grows, arms shrink, glutes (your butt) disappear. And then most people try to fix it with even MORE cardio!
If that’s you, STOP. Stop digging the hole.
Your legs are your biggest muscle group and one of the biggest drivers of long-term metabolism, hormone support, strength, and overall quality of life.
What did I tell him to do?
I told him to stop hammering endless conditioning and switch to something simpler:
- 40 minutes of lifting
- 20 minutes of walking lunges
Every day. Nothing fancy. No multi-hour cardio sessions.
Just consistent work that is focused on building muscle and challenging the body in a different way he wasn’t used to.
What happened?
Within 45–60 days, he was down 20 pounds and lunging half a mile daily. His metabolism finally started working FOR him instead of against him. He felt stronger, more durable, and had a newfound energy.
If this sounds like you, start with the Pump :30 workouts! They’re posted Monday-Friday on the CoryG Fitness app. Pair these 30 minute pump workouts with 200-800 meters of walking lunges, and you’ll be on your way!
